DATASETS 
This DATASETS directory contains the complete sequence fasta files of the leishmania genome that is currently in GeneDB. The files are all dated using the system day month year added to the end of the file. Previous versions of the data are left in the directory to enable users to keep track of changes. The two types of datasets now maintained are:
Those beginning with GeneDB_dna_database_ which contain all the coding DNA sequences for Leishmania major in GeneDB
Those beginning with GeneDBallDNA_ contain all the sequence currently sasembled into contigs for the Leishmania major genome in the GeneDB database. The sequence for individual chromosomes is located under each of the chromosome directories in the CHROMOSOMES directory. Some sequence remains unassembled in the SHOTGUN_ READS directory and may well contain contaminating sequence as well as leishmania sequence.
